Shaun Gallagher, German Valley Board member and Forrestville Valley School Board member, announced that he is endorsing Republican Steve Fricke for State Representative to the 89th House District seat. Gallagher is also a small business owner and Professional Civil Engineer in both the private and public sectors.
“I am proud to show my support for Steve Fricke for State Representative” said Gallagher. “Steve brings honesty and integrity to the Republican Party. He understands our state’s economic, education and infrastructure issues. Steve brings a career in agriculture and education to the position and his public service as Stephenson County Board member and Farm Bureau member show his support and dedication to the region” – Gallagher said. “I support Steve because I know he won’t just show up to vote “no” in Springfield, but will work in the Legislature to reduce wasteful spending, invest in our transportation infrastructure and improve our education system to truly move our District and State forward. I greatly appreciate Steve’s call to public service and I am honored to help support his campaign, as I know he will work tirelessly for our District.”
Fricke said, “I am deeply appreciative of having Mr. Gallagher’s endorsement. His outstanding work for Ogle County, Forrestville Valley Schools and the village of German Valley are true examples of service to community. Shaun’s far-reaching support in his community is built on his willingness to lead the charge and get things accomplished.”
Fricke announced his candidacy for the 89th Illinois House district seat in September following current State Representative Brian Stewart’s (R-Freeport) announcement to seek election to the Illinois State Senate upon the retirement next year of current State Senator Tim Bivins (R-Dixon).
A third-generation farmer from German Valley, IL, Fricke is a current Stephenson County Board member, vice chairman of the Stephenson County Republican Central Committee. He is also the current president of the Stephenson County Farm Bureau and a retired Freeport High School teacher. He and his wife Kim live on their family farm south of Freeport.
The 89th Illinois House District is made up of parts of Carroll, Jo Daviess, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago Counties.
